We are officially through with our STARS lessons after Monday's final assignment. Next, we will be moving on to poetry. On Tuesday, we will take notes and start on the vocabulary for this unit. The test for these words will be next week... it is a challenging list, so start studying now! :) We will also read a set of poems and test on them this Friday.
Good luck to everyone participating in the livestock show this week and next! I'm proud of the hard work you put into your animals. You are champions... go show 'em that. :)
I will do my best to catch you up/get you work. Try hard to stay on track in all your classes!

The flu and strep continue to plague us! I'm hoping the end is somewhere in sight. We are still working through our STARS and CARS reading strategies workbook in the classroom. Our classroom could use a few large bottles of Germ-X and some Lysol spray if anyone would like to help out in that way. Stay healthy out there.
I will be placing a Scholastic Book Order on Thursday if you would like to order here is the link...
Man! Absences have really hit the classroom hard over the last few weeks. I'm hoping the worst of the sickness is through. I'm doing my very best to keep up with handing out and grading of make up work. Please be responsible to find and complete work when you are not able to be here.
We started going through a reading skills book called Strategies to Achieve Reading Success (STARS) last week. We covered Lessons 1 and 2 on reading for Main Ideas and Details. This week and next we will continue working through the 12 lessons presented in the book. We will also stop to assess our progress in the companion testing book CARS or Comprehensive Assessment of Reading Skills. We will not have vocabulary lists while working through STARS. NO SCHOOL: Friday, February 9th. NO SCHOOL for Students: Monday, February 19th Next Book Report Due: Friday, February 23rd. |
