Between now and Christmas break we will be reading O'Henry's classic tale, "The Gift of the Magi." We will be reviewing reading skills we have already learned and working for the first time on figurative language. On December 7th and 10th we will be watching a modern Hallmark movie version of Magi in order to compare how the setting change affects the plot. We will also each be writing our own version of the story using fun characters from pop culture, like SpongeBob and Patrick! :) Be here everyday so you don't miss out! We will have a vocabulary quiz over the following list on Wed, Dec. 5th. Keep scrolling for more important dates...
In case you missed it...here's a "The Gift of the Magi" Audiobook

We are finishing up a two week unit on the gold rush this week. We will be focusing on research. The students will be forming a research question and looking online for more information. We are having a vocabulary test on Monday...and we are trying out an online platform called Edcite through which we can complete assignments using our laptops. Pretty exciting stuff. :)
Happy Thanksgiving! |
